Land of the Free, Because of the Brave

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you have some fun plans for celebrating the weekend with friends or family. Although it’s a great time to enjoy hot dogs and a jump in the lake, it’s also an opportunity to reflect with gratitude upon those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the freedoms that we enjoy.

Looking for a new way to celebrate locally?

The Museum of Flight’s Memorial Day Ceremony commemorates the lives of loved ones and strangers who gave the last full measure of devotion in service to their country. Enjoy patriotic music from Boeing Employee Concert Band at 11:00 AM in the Side Gallery, followed by remarks at 12:00 PM

All activities are FREE with Museum admission.

National Moment of Remembrance

At 3:00 p.m. on Memorial Day, a tradition known as the National Moment of Remembrance takes place in the United States. It is a time when people across the nation pause for a moment of silence to honor and remember the fallen military members who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

During this moment of remembrance, individuals are encouraged to reflect on the sacrifices of these brave men and women and express gratitude for their dedication and service. The purpose of the National Moment of Remembrance is to create a unified moment of solemnity and unity, allowing people from all walks of life to come together in honoring and remembering those who have given their lives for their country.

Best wishes for a fun, thoughtful and safe holiday weekend.
